God of Renewal

As we celebrate Australia Day with a national holiday, help us to be thankful for everything our country means to us.  For those who regard this day as a day of mourning and sorrow, may your spirit bring solace.  For those who regard Australia as their new country, may your spirit bring a sense of belonging. Whoever we are, may we embrace all who live here as true Australians who have equal rights to safety, justice and security.

Show us how to be tolerant and understanding and to look for your life spirit in all we meet so that they may become a blessing to us.
